The Callisto Protocol – Cinematic Trailer Reveal

The Callisto protocol is when of the most anticipated horror games in recent years. Ranging from its in-depth mechanics to its dedication to creating a truly horrific atmosphere. The game has a lot for gamers to be excited about, so let’s go ahead and start to break it down.

Glen Schofield created this game.

So when it comes to horror games, few people whose name carries as much weight as Glen Schofield. This trust and excitement are because Glen is one of the co-creators of the dead space game series. When you realize this, it just greatens the expectations for this survival horror game and gives a great deal of trust to the project. After some of the reveals we have received, I would say this trust was well placed.

Where is the game set?

The game’s setting is on Jupiter’s moon called Callisto in a black iron prison facility. Right now, the nature of the prison and its residents are mostly unknown other than an outbreak has overtaken the facility.

Who is the main character?

Jacob Lee is the name of the main character of the Callisto project. We don’t know much about him now other than three apparent facts. One is that he is being imprisoned in the black iron facility. Another fact is that he doesn’t appear to be a normal prisoner. The voice-over suggests he was rescued from a crash and then taken here. The third is that he has some skills that are helping him survive in the facility, but we don’t know what those are. We do also know that Josh Duhamel will be voicing the character in-game.

How will the game maintain a horror atmosphere?

The game will use various methods to increase the tension and sense of dread you will experience. Everything is being utilized, from lighting to sound design, to ensure this experience. The developers have even commented on how the enemy interactions and jumps will be spaced out to be unpredictable.

Combat has also been set up to reinforce this idea in the game. There will be limited ammo for the weapon, meaning you will have to use it wisely. Not only that, but the enemies in the game will need to be finished off in a specific way for them to stay down. The trade is that combat mostly seems to revolve around a weapon called the GRP that will let you control gravity as your form of attack.

Mystery of the outbreak.

While we don’t have much for plot details right now, it is needless to say that you are going to be answering some finite questions. What is the outbreak that is creating this creature? Why at this prison, and why were you brought here? Many horror games make great use of mysteries like this for their stories.

When will the game be released?

The good news is that you can look forward to playing the Callisto project on December 2nd of, 2022. So get ready for a frightful Christmas.

Pre-order the game.
