Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – First Look Trailer – Nintendo E3 2019

The internet is bursting with excitement over both new details and rumors that have come out about the Zelda Breath Of The Wild sequel. The only two sources of confirmed information are both the trailers that have been showcased. With that In mind, some of this information in this article is confirmed from said trailers, and others are speculation based on what we know.

Not the name.

The first of the things that we have to discuss is that this is not going to be the name of the game. Due to the nature of Zelda’s names, their actual name won’t be released until later. For now, we will just call it Breath Of The Wild 2.

New game mechanic for sky exploring and rewinding.

Starting with what we know, two new game mechanics will be added to the game that you should be aware of. The first of these is that traveling through the air will have an upgraded significance in this installment. The gliding feature is showcased in the opening of the E3 trailer. This mechanic gives us an even better look at how important this exploration style will be.

The second new feature is only seen briefly within the trailer, but it appears that Link will have the ability to rewind things. Now it is only in the trailer for a few seconds, but Link appears to rewind a boulder launched downhill towards him back to the enemies that had sent it.

It is also worth pointing out that this has led to some people thinking that time manipulation will be important not only for gameplay but also for the story. While this isn’t confirmed, there is some exciting evidence for the theory throughout the material we have already received.

Possibly exploring Ganondorf.

Another theory that seems to prevail is that this game will focus on Ganondorf as a character. Whether he would be playable or not is not stated in theory, but many think that the appearance of his deceased body being revived suggests he will have a larger role in the story.

Some people have even taken this as the idea, as I mentioned before, that Ganondorf will be playable. Some people believe this section might even be set in the past, exploring his fall. If this is true, it could be very interesting to play as one of the signature characters in the series.

Zelda may have a larger role to play.

Regarding signature characters getting a larger role, Many people have noted a change with Princess Zelda. With the first teaser trailer’s appearance, many noted that Zelda was in the underground tunnels with Link, and she now sports adventuring gear. Zelda has been playable in other entries, but this could be a far larger step. Whether this would be co-op or we would trade-off between her and Link is not speculated.

Expected release date.

So if these confirmed facts and these rumored possibilities excite you, I am sure you would like to know when this game will come out. While there is no exact date yet, the current estimate is sometime in 2023. We most likely won’t even have the game’s name until close to the release to avoid spoilers.

It is currently slated for the switch but may be quickly ported to a newer console.

Lastly, there is a good chance that the game will be quickly moved to a new Nintendo console as the confirmed specs will push the switch to the limit. Considering that Breath Of The Wild helped make the switch a success, this could be a great move on Nintendo’s part.
